Mekanys Referral Program

Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 · July 30, 2026

What we collect

  • Referrer account data: your name, email address, sign-in details, and (before any payout) tax information such as a Form W-9 or equivalent.
  • Referral contact details: the company name, contact name, and contact details a referrer submits about a business, plus the contact's confirmation or decline of the introduction (including basic technical metadata such as browser information at the time of confirmation).
  • Self-lead submissions: the company and contact details a business submits about itself when requesting to be contacted.

Why we collect it

  • operating the referral program: tracking referrals, attribution, and status;
  • contacting referred businesses, and only after the referred contact has confirmed the introduction and agreed that Mekanys may contact them;
  • contacting businesses that submitted their own request to be contacted;
  • calculating and paying referrer commissions, and meeting tax and record-keeping obligations.

Where it's stored

Program data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the United States. Access is restricted to Mekanys personnel who operate the program.

Sharing

Confirmed leads (company and contact details for referrals the contact confirmed, and self-lead submissions) are shared with Mekanys's internal CRM so our team can follow up. We do not sell personal data. Apart from the advertising measurement described below, we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Advertising and measurement

Our public pages may use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure whether our advertising works. This is limited to the public marketing pages: we do not run advertising trackers inside the signed-in referrer portal or the admin area.

Where this is active, we may share with Meta: technical identifiers (such as Meta's own cookies, your IP address, and browser user-agent), the page you were on, and, when you submit the contact form, a cryptographically hashed (irreversible) version of your email address and phone number so Meta can tell us that its ad led to a form submission. We do not send Meta your name, your company details, or what you wrote in the form.

Under some US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, this kind of advertising measurement can count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time:

  • We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or extension sends it, we do not load advertising trackers at all.
  • You can block or clear cookies in your browser, or adjust your ad preferences directly with Meta.
  • You can email us at the address below and ask us not to share your information for advertising purposes.

We also do not use these pages to advertise to anyone we know to be under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Retention

We keep referral and account records for as long as needed to operate the program and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Referral submissions that are never confirmed are retained only as long as needed for attribution tracking. You can ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep.

Your rights (US & Canada residents)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to ask what we have collected and why, and to withdraw consent to being contacted. If you were referred to Mekanys and no longer wish to be contacted, tell us (or simply decline the confirmation link) and we will not reach out. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below; we will respond within the timelines required by applicable US state or Canadian privacy law.
